So over the past couple years we have witnessed the rise of the cupcake. As a Washingtonian hailing from the city that played a large role in the cupcake obsession, I’ve had just about enough of cupcakes. Cupcake Wars binge watching on Netflix and lines that travel around the block to try out Georgetown Cupcakes new cupcake vending machine are all good fun, but then something like this happens:

Yep, that’s a cupcake that you can pop like a pimple. I’ve vaguely heard about this pimple-popping fascination, but this is terrifying. Dr. Sandra Lee, aka Dr. Pimple Popper, posts YouTube videos of her popping pimples. Save yourself the trouble and don’t bother looking. Her videos have Blessed By Baking to craft up cupcakes that pops lemon custard when you squeeze the fondant top. I’m queasy just thinking about it. IT LOOKS LIKE A REAL PIMPLE AND THEN YOU EAT IT! HOW IS THAT OKAY?

The bakery gifted a batch of these cupcakes to Dr. Lee herself and gifted to me the final straw in this cupcake phenomenon.
