A Pair for Healthcare

Since many of us are rarely setting foot outside our homes these days, shopping for new shoes is one of the last things on our minds. But quality, comfortable shoes help those on the frontlines of the coronavirus outbreak do their jobs every single day. And brands that make those shoes are stepping in to help (pun intended).
Allbirds recently launched a “Buy a Pair, Give a Pair” campaign that allows folks to bundle a shoe purchase with a donation and automatically supply a pair to a healthcare provider. Bundles include a pair of classic wool runners, trendy tree runners, loungers or skippers. Or, if you want to donate a pair of kicks but don’t need a new pair yourself, the sustainable footwear brand invites customers to purchase a pair for donation.

Wow. We’re blown away by your response to our U.S. healthcare donation last week and have distributed $500,000 worth of shoes since Friday. Based on suggestions from our community (hi @sjc734 @paige.w.prieto, @alwhite2007, and @jaregee ), we’re adding a “buy-one-give-one” option in the U.S. as well as an option to donate a pair of Wool Runners to a healthcare professional. Read the full note from our Co-Founders above and if you want to donate a pair, a link is in our bio.
Crocs has also launched a campaign – “A Free Pair for Healthcare” – in which they are donating shoes to healthcare workers (as of this posting, they’ve donated over 240,000 pairs!). Crocs has also discounted their Crocs at Work line to encourage all to purchase a pair for their loved ones and friends in the healthcare industry.
Shoes may not be something we give much thought to when going to work everyday, but to our healthcare heroes, comfortable shoes are essential. We applaud the brands that are doing their part to keep our healthcare workers comfortable during these difficult times.
