Adult Sippy Cups

Here in Boston, we’ve seen area restaurants and bars commit to the #SkipTheStraw movement for a few months now. Hot spots, such us the marlo-favorite Eastern Standard, are implementing this initiative to help do their part in reducing waste. Many of these places offer a reusable or paper/compostable option instead of plastic if you can’t kick the straw habit completely just yet.
Recently, national chains have joined the cause to #SkipTheStraw. Announcing their efforts last week, Starbucks shared that they will phase out single-use plastic straws at all 28k+ stores around the world by 2020.
This means that all iced coffee, tea and espresso drinks will now be served with a strawless lid, creating adult sippy cups.
Some of you m.blog readers might have even experienced this new design, as the lids are already available in more than 8,000 stores in the U.S. and Canada. But don’t worry Frappuccino, blended drink orderers or those who want a straw — Starbucks will also have straws made with some sort of alternative material.
Love this, Starbucks! But who else now is going to strategically not wear white when they hit up the coffee chain?
