If you’re not the size of a typical model, it’s difficult to imagine what the clothes you’re browsing online will actually look like once they arrive on your doorstep. Online retailer ASOS is trying to change the game by recently launching a new feature on their website called ‘See My Fit’ where you can view clothing on models of various shapes and sizes. Right now, the company is calling this clever campaign a work in progress, but choosing to be more inclusive and using models of various shapes, heights and ethnicities is a big step in the right direction for the brand.

The UK-based retailer specializes in trending women’s and men’s fashion and is known for promoting body positivity and using an ethical trade strategy. Whether an ASOS brand or one of the other thousands they have partnered with, the site helps you find the right look, fast! And now, you can find the right look for your body. ‘See My Fit’ has been talked about all over social media since the launch last month. This kind of play with augmented reality (or AR as it is called in the tech world), is becoming more and more popular with brands across the globe.

Currently, the feature is available for select dresses in sizes 0-14 US (4-18 UK), with plans to expand to ASOS Curve, Tall, Petite and Maternity. Each dress is shown on 16 different models with two body types per size.

ASOS isn’t the first brand to showcase models of different sizes on their site, but with the addition of AR, the opportunity is there for other brands to follow suit. In the near future we will probably be virtually modeling everything before we buy it. So, go ahead, browse the site and grab a dress for that Valentine’s Day date that you were too busy to plan, a weekend getaway coming up, or just because you are a shopaholic like myself!
