Bark for a Cause

www.mspca.orgI have always been a dog person. I grew up with 2 beautiful lab/golden retriever/Newfoundland mixes and I used to spend my afternoons playing with them. You know, riding around on their backs like I was Sebastian and they were Belle… (My favorite Nickelodeon show circa 1984). I have always wanted a dog, but living in Boston and working full time doesn’t really make me a superb “dog owner” candidate. So, I figured I would support my furry friends by spreading the word about the MSPCA’s latest cause.

The Angell Animal Medial Center’s “Pints for Pets” is a new program that launched on St. Patrick’s Day. The same way the Red Cross supports and executes blood drives across the globe, the MSCPA is encouraging healthy cats and dogs to donate blood to critically ill or injured animals who are suffering from medical disorders, injuries from motor vehicle accidents, or recovering from major surgery.

The bottom line – your pet can help and donating blood is a simple process. For full details regarding procedure, guidelines, and incentives visit the MSCPA/ANGELL Blood Donor Program site, call (617) 522-7282, or stop by their Back Bay location at 350 South Huntington Avenue in Boston.
