As marketers, the team here at marlo is always on the lookout for the next great brand collab. We’re in the business of helping clients tell their stories, and seeking out a synergistic brand with audience overlap is nearly always a good call. I’ve been working in the hospitality space for nearly a decade, and trust me when I say that there’s really nothing like a well-executed pop up. These events and activations are fun, timely and have good juju. And you don’t even have to take my word for it. Do a quick Google around The Hawthorne and Swizzle Sundays and see why it is that top local ‘tender Jackson Cannon continues to open up his patio bar to young upstarts and industry peers each season.

Of course, working in hospitality and having a restaurant or a hotel rooftop where you can host your industry friends tends to be key. Cheeky partnerships are harder to execute for the CPG set – what with the planning and production and pesky FDA to consider. That being said, I was delighted to learn via AdWeek that Kellogg’s has partnered with wine brand House Wine to create the ultimate partnership in the name of picnicking convenience — a ballin’ box set that takes wine and cheese pairing to a decidedly convenient level and is nearly certain to be Instagram gold.

And while I may be someone who speaks with sommeliers and cheese mongers on a near-daily basis (#blessed), I do have a soft spot for Cheez-It and got a kick out of this collab. I can’t say that I’ll be ordering one of the limited edition packages from the House Wine website, but I will definitely pick up a box and a bottle the next time the mood for an impromptu picnic strikes.
