While Cinco de Mayo isn’t Mexican Independence Day (that’s on September 16th), it is a marketer’s dream. Combine that with the Kentucky Derby being held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, and you bet a tequila shot that a collaboration was bound to happen.

That’s where Corona and vineyard vines gallop in.

Earlier this year, Corona Extra signed on as one of the official sponsors of the race – kudos to whomever realized that Cinco and the Derby landed on the same day in 2018. Vineyard vines is in their eighth year as the “Official Style of the Kentucky Derby.” So, it’s probably no surprise that the two iconic companies would roll up their sleeves to create a limited-edition line of bow ties, belts, scarfs and totes to make sure no one has FOMO when choosing their attire for the day.
