Crossushi – NOT To Be Mistaken With The Cronut

It may be 2018, but the world isn’t over food mashups yet, apparently. There are some crossovers I can totally get behind: the cronut (obvi), the piecaken, the sushi burrito… I’ll even give the ramen burger a try. But the newest food “trend” I absolutely refuse to entertain is the Crossushi.
Masterminded by Mr. Holmes Bakehouse (in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seoul), the Crossushi, or “California Croissant” is a croissant topped with sesame seeds and filled with smoked salmon, wasabi, pickled ginger, and nori seaweed, with Kikkoman soy sauce on the side.
I love both sushi and croissants, but I can’t help but think the two do just not go together. I know what you must be thinking: “You can’t knock it ‘til ya try it, Erin.” Well, maybe that’s true. So, we’ll leave it to our friends on the West Coast to do the dirty work for us. If you do give it a try, let us know what you think!
