An Early Lead for My Olympic Winner

With the Winter Olympics rapidly approaching, we’re beginning to see reports of which athletes made the cut and hear that iconic “bum bum bum bum bum bum bum” after every commercial break during the TODAY Show.
Most recently I was happy to learn about Adam Rippon, who is the first openly gay U.S. Winter Olympian and a figure skating champion. I was already looking forward to watching him tear up the ice, but am even more so now after reading his response to the selection of Vice President Mike Pence to lead the U.S. delegation in South Korea.
In an interview with USA Today, Adam says, “You mean Mike Pence, the same Mike Pence that funded gay conversion therapy? I’m not buying it.” As the kids (used to) say, BOOM. Roasted. He later went on to share his feelings about Pence’s role within the administration and how he “doesn’t stand for anything that I really believe in.”
Score one for the good guys, and here’s to hoping Adam Rippon takes home the gold.
