Fyre Festival Attendees Beware – Again.

Fyre Festival Attendees Beware – Again.

The unbelievable scam that was Fyre Festival sadly affected so many young hopefuls across the world. I don’t know if there is anything sadder than a large group of concert-hungry millennials thinking they’re going to a once-in-a-lifetime music festival, only to find out that they were a part of one of the largest and most expensive scams to date.

But wait, there’s more! Unfortunately, there is another scam targeting the sad believers of Fyre Festival – this time, through the email list. Many subscribers on the list are receiving multiple offers for some pretty outrageous and unbelievable opportunities. (It’s a scam.) Just a few include: dinner with the entire Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team— most notably LeBron James, VIP club entry after the game with the players, front row seats to the famous Victoria Secret Fashion Show, as well as tickets for the MET Gala. (It’s a scam.) All of these offers come at the humble and non-scam-like price range of $1,500-30,000. Did I mention that this is most definitely a scam?

Vice News interviewed a ‘Frank Tribble’ from a company called NYC VIP Access about these mysterious offers. Apparently, VIP Access is a company founded by “a couple of hip-hop managers and their artists,” and is not connected to the people that created Fyre Festival. And yet, their offers are just as unbelievable and – dare I say – sketchier?

I know a few people who ‘attended’ Fyre Festival, and I’m hoping that they either unsubscribed from the Fyre Festival emails immediately, or are a little less trusting this time around. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice…It’s all my fault because this is SO CLEARLY A SCAM.

Stay smart and agile out there guys, the Internet is a dark and scary place.
