It’s here. The answer to your most crucial questions: Can I pull off a cat eye? Does red lipstick look good with this shirt? You know, those questions that make getting ready in the morning take forever. What is this miraculous solution you may ask? Well….probably no shock, but it’s an app.

Yep, there’s an app for everything nowadays and makeup is no exception. L’Oréal recently debuted “Makeup Genius,” an app which utilizes the front facing camera (aka, “the selfie camera”) in order to scan your face and virtually try on product. And no, this app does not create an cartoonish avatar; it literally allows you to try on makeup on your real, moving face.

Refinery29 reviewed the app raving about how realistic it looks. Let me tell you, this is a godsend – with my pale skin and freckles I never know what kind of make-up looks good on me and I always seem to be falling for gimmicks online (DISCLAIMER: Jergens will not give super pale people “natural glow”). The app lets you try on an infinite amount of products in several shades and colors so that you can decide what looks best on you.

Yeah… that girl’s makeup isn’t real…BUT IT LOOKS SO REAL!!! And the best part about it is that the app is free. Unfortunately, it only lets you try on L’Oréal products, but it’s still an awesome way to see if you can pull off a daring red lipstick or sexy cat eye. And, of course, to ensure that mornings won’t be as full of makeup mishaps!
