‘Guyliner’ Making People Blink Twice…

‘Guyliner’ Making People Blink Twice…

American Idol finalist Adam Lambert’s rocker image aroused audiences all over the country. His glam persona of high-pitched notes, crazy hair styles, vintage punk clothing, and make up skills—particularly his eyeliner application—have become quite the topic of conversation, sparking trend setters within the male world to wonder if ‘guyliner’ is the “new black”.

Love it or hate it, this ‘guyliner’ craze is taking the entertainment world by storm and now many actors and singers can also be found sporting this eye-popping trend. USA Today asked Kayleen Schaefer, the associate editor at Details magazine, the skinny on eyeliner and the proper way for males to embrace the look. Her suggestions: minimal is best to do the trick of making male peepers pop. She goes on to say that Adam wears a hefty amount but, because of his personality, the look suits him. Sounds like what it comes down to is personality (or maybe it’s guts!) as to who wears the ‘guyliner’ look well. The next obvious question: Will this trend come to Boston anytime soon? I don’t know what Kayleen would say, but just imagine a Red Sox fan watching the game with his buddies donning black liner and drinking brews? I think it’s safe to say that ‘Guyliner’ won’t be a phenomenon in the hub anytime soon!
