And They Lived Happily Ever After…

If you want your love story to end with this oh-so-cliché storybook line, you just may be in luck…

Well-known wedding dress designer Alfred Angelo recently announced a partnership with Disney to create a collection of Disney Princess inspired bridal gowns. Yes, you read that correctly; you can now officially be the bell of the ball like Belle in Beauty and the Beast or rule the sea like Ariel in The Little Mermaid on your big day. At first, I thought, “Aren’t women who are ready to wed a little old to be dressing like Disney princesses?” But on second thought… “No, they’re absolutely not!”

I’ve watched Prince Phillip kiss Aurora out of her slumber countless times, and you know that tune they play when the rose in Beauty and the Beast loses its petals?  Well, I’m not ashamed to admit that I have it memorized. The fact of the matter is that I, along with many other 20-something girls, grew up watching Disney movies, fantasizing about pumpkins turning into carriages…and then getting duped by one too many non-Prince Charming’s along the way. So, if and when Prince Charming does make his way through the Enchanted Forest to take your hand in marriage, why not wear a gown fit for a princess?

And there’s no need for a Fairy Godmother in this fairytale ending. All of the dresses are moderately priced (under $1,200) and will be available in sizes 0 to 30W. The collection is slated to launch in 2011, so get your glass slippers ready for a run over to your nearest Alfred Angelo retailer.

Brilliant partnership and a brilliant idea! And to answer your obvious question, no, you won’t be seeing me dressed as Cinderella when the time comes…but that doesn’t mean I don’t love a happy ending!
