I Wish I Was a Surf Diva
I have self-diagnosed myself with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and, like clock-work, once Daylight Savings Time kicks in and it’s dark at 4:30pm, I start to fantasize about warm-weather locations, complete with soft sand, bright blue waves and hot sun beating down on me.
Every year I look up the same place to visit – an all women’s surf camp in San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico called Las Olas. It’s a week-long adventure that offers you nothing but morning yoga, surfing, food and more surfing. You stay in a beautiful villa and receive surfing instruction, massages, healthy meals, some random activities and more. It’s basically relaxation-city for the surf diva (or the surf diva-in-training). I actually have a surf board and my own wetsuit and I used to go surfing with friends on the weekends during the summers when my schedule wasn’t so crazy. I am, by no means, an expert so I think a week-long stay in Mexico with cool female surf instructors would really help me develop my skills. It looks like a costly adventure (once you also add in that flight from Boston down to Baja Mexico) but, as soon as I can make this trip happen, I’m there!
