Jimmy Fallon’s 90s Throwbacks are Everything

Jimmy Fallon’s 90s Throwbacks are Everything

Jimmy Fallon has been taking us back a few decades in an ode to the West Coast and it is everything any 90s kid has ever wanted. Oh, that, and for Tamagotchis to make a comeback.

Last Monday, Jimmy hilariously remade the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song with a few lyrical changes to proclaim his move from New York to LA this week. Watch below if you haven’t seen it yet.

Now, he’s taken on another childhood guilty pleasure—Saved by the Bell. Not only does Jimmy Fallon dress up as an early-90s version of himself (light wash jeans, tee and colorful button-up shirt—you know the drill), but he also warmed our hearts by reuniting the cast at Bayside High, including Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack), Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly), Mario Lopez (Slater), Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie) and Dennis Haskins (Mr. Belding). The skit revolves around Jimmy telling his friends that he’s going to move to New York City and immediately begins pulling at our heartstrings and tickling our funny bones by including recurring jokes from throughout the seasons.

Perhaps the best part is when Zack says, “Jimmy going on a date with Nicole Kidman is like Jessie becoming  a stripper,” poking fun at both Elizabeth Berkley’s role in Showgirls and Jimmy’s recent realization that he actually did go on a “date” with Kidman.

Maybe I’m biased because Jimmy Fallon will forever be my celebrity crush (or maybe he’s the funniest, most down-to-earth, perfect man in the world), but I can’t wait to see what he does next—even if it’s not a throwback to the most fashion-challenged decade in history.
