I’ll be the first to admit that I am not a fan of watching football.

Sure, the players’ asses look good in those tight pants and I like judging the cheerleaders, but seriously, I could care less about downs and punts. So, you can imagine my disgust when my husband suggested the idea of throwing a Super Bowl party. You can’t exactly make a Super Bowl-themed party sexy or sleek and let’s face it, gatherings where the suggested attire is a jersey doesn’t really give you many options for fun outfits.

In my despair, I turned to my go-to website, Pinterest and within moments, my lack of enthusiasm for hosting a Super Bowl party turned into sheer excitement. Seven layer dip in the shape of a football field with guacamole on the top as grass? Cake pops decorated in team colors? Perhaps there is hope for me to become a football fan!

If you find yourself in a similar party planning predicament this Super Bowl Sunday, here’s my new go-to dessert to help you jazz up your chip, dip and beer fest into something with a little bit of sass and class.

Chocolate Strawberry Footballs

1 ½ cups of dark chocolate chips
12-14 large strawberries
¼ cup of white chocolate chips
2 coffee mugs
Piping bag
#2 tip
Parchment paper

In a microwave safe coffee mug add dark chocolate chips. Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat until melted.

Grab the strawberries by the leaf, dip in chocolate and swirl until coated. Let excess chocolate drip off before putting them on parchment paper to dry. Allow to dry for 15 minutes.

In a separate coffee mug, add the white chocolate chips. Microwave on high for 20 seconds and stir, repeat until melted. Pour the white chocolate into your piping bag, pipe on a stripe at the top and one at the bottom of your strawberries. Last, pipe a line down the middle of the berry and then pipe 5 or 6 lines across the middle line.

Serve chilled.
