LiLou the Therapy Pig

Flying can be stressful. From the long security lines and crowded gate areas to stressed out flyers on the verge of an anxiety attack, airports are breeding grounds for tension.
But for those lucky travelers with flights to and from San Francisco, you might be comforted by the airport’s newest hire: LiLou!
A small, spotted Juliana pig, LiLou recently joined the previously dog-only Wag Brigade of therapy animals that make their way through the SFO terminals. LiLou is also the first pig to be certified in the Animal Assisted Therapy Program of the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
LiLou will be roaming the halls of the airport once a month, when flyers can be greeted with a snout or a wave, witness her twirling and standing up on her back hooves, and enjoy her toy piano performance.
Unfortunately, this California girl will not be flying through the San Francisco airport this holiday season. But of course I’m following her on Instagram to see what she’s up to and encourage you to do the same.
