m.onday deal — Friends of Boston’s Homeless
Dontcha love those crazy entrepreneurs? You know the ones I’m talking about….the ones who always seem to have time to give back to the community, not only by supporting existing non-profits, but by creating them! Friends of Boston’s Homeless is one such organization, founded in 1987 by developer John Rosenthal. Today, FOBH is a 501(C)(3) non-profit corporation working in partnership with Homeless Services of the Boston Public Health Commission to develop and fund innovative, solution-oriented programs to help the homeless move beyond shelter and back into the community as independent citizens. In addition, through advocacy and education, the Friends seeks to increase the public’s awareness and understanding of the realities of homelessness.
For the past 23 years, they’ve hosted one of the charity circuit’s most popular events, Beyond Shelter. An evening of great food, fun music and merriment, Beyond Shelter is a must-do. Tickets are normally $100, but with this m.onday deal, you’ll get 40% off, for a $60 ticket. Check out more info at www.fobh.org — see you at the House of Blues!
