Envy. Talk about a wasted emotion. To be envious means one wants what they don’t have. Some things, like Einstein’s genius or Phelps’ breast stroke, are unattainable by most of us. Yet these are the exceptions. Most things, in our experience, can be achieved by hard work, sacrifice and determination. Too often we don’t want to sacrifice, or we expect things should come easily. But that’s not reality, as particularly evidenced by the state of today’s economy. If you haven’t already, check out the list of 25 Most Envied Bostonians in the October issue of Boston magazine. Hard work will get you everywhere….even envied.
