- marlo monthly
In this month’s marlo monthly for September 2012, A History of Hippocrates, Dr. Brian Clement, 7 Keys to Lifelong Sexual Vitality, Hippocrates in California and Dr. Brian Clement’s Boston Speaking Schedule.
What you’re about to read is a different kind of marlo monthly. Instead of multiple agency clients spanning a spectrum of topics, we’re dedicating September’s issue to one client that can help you live a longer, healthier and more productive life: Hippocrates Health Institute.
Earlier this year, I experienced the HHI phenomenon (named after Hippocrates, he of the “Let food be thy medicine” notoriety, among other impressive feats of intelligence) first-hand over the course of my three-week stay when my cholesterol numbers decreased by 50 points (fyi, my “pre” reading was considered acceptable by the medical community). It was this one powerful change — for which there was an undeniable correlation to diet — that was enough to make me a believer in the power of nutrition to change not only our bodies, but also our minds. While my path since then has not been a straight one (try staying 100% raw vegan with our client roster of restaurants, festivals, and alcohol and food producers!), my self-described title of “BS Vegan” remains important to me. Do I “cheat?” Sure. But I stay as close as possible to what’s ideal with what works for me in my life today…and I’m okay with that. But I take true comfort in the fact that — were I ever to be diagnosed with a serious disease — I know the steps to take to heal myself without relying on modern medicine.
So with this background in mind, you can imagine how beyond excited I am to have Dr. Brian Clement, co-director of Hippocrates Health Institute, in Boston next week. I encourage you to make the time to attend at least one of his planned talks…trust me, it will be an extraordinary use of an hour or two on behalf of yourself and your loved ones.
And if you decide that what you learn isn’t for you…no problem. My hope is that you open your minds and your hearts and consider learning something that I’d guess will be revolutionary for most of you…that’s it, nothing more. I feel like a ‘namaste’ would be appropriate here, but this ain’t no yoga class so I’ll sign off with one final cliché: you’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain.
