Nike Empowers Women Of All Sizes To “Just Do It”

The first pair of sneakers I ever owned as a child were Nike’s, and ironically enough, so are the shoes I’m wearing right now. I, as well as practically everyone else in world, has loved and supported the iconic brand for decades. Now we’re about to fall a little bit more in love with Nike — and not because of shoes!

Earlier this month, Nike released a line of plus size mannequins to their NikeTown store in London, and shoppers are loving it! The newly designed women’s section now includes curvy mannequins as well as para-sport mannequins to better represent a full range of athletic women’s body types.

Grateful shoppers took to social media to thank the brand for being more inclusive when it comes to diversity in clothing sizes:

Following Nike’s release of its plus size women’s collection only two years ago, the new mannequins are just the latest sign that retailers are working harder to reflect what women actually look like. Other brands such as Old Navy, Nordstrom and Missguided have been displaying a diversified selection of mannequins for the past year as well.

This move by the powerful athletic brand has made many of its customers feel more welcomed and proud to shop in its stores. Hopefully more brands will take notice and do the same!
