We’re all in the same virtual boat. For many of us, our days currently revolve around working, eating and TV binging. For the ambitious, perhaps there’s a streamed workout thrown in there (of which there are MANY great options) or a grand meal being prepared. But by now, we all might be looking for a quick way to escape, and the world wide web is here to help us do that.
Google Arts & Culture partnered with museums and galleries worldwide, like The MET, the Van Gogh Museum and London’s National Gallery, to give us somewhere to go right from our couch. Browse works from Rembrandt, follow the story of Piero di Cosimo’s Perseus Freeing Andromeda, or get up close to the Girl with a Pearl Earring.
If you’re less about art and more about exploring the outdoors, there are tours for you too – Urban Daddy shared a full list of cultural landmarks and natural destinations (hello, Great Barrier Reef) that can be toured virtually. I didn’t think I’d ever find myself flying over a Hawaiian volcano this week, but nevertheless, here we are.
So, spice up the day a bit with a new adventure. While we may be limited now, these virtual tours are sure to inspire future travels. Where will you go?
