It’s been a while since I was a young, naive, recent college grad, wide-eyed and eager at the endless possibilities that stood before me, but I do remember one thing — it was a real pain in the ass to find a job and you know, start living a real adult life. So, we’re expected to work five days a week for the next 45+ years and not hang out with our friends every day?! It was a real bummer, I tell ya. The opportunity to get paid to drive around the country with eleven other recent grads for a year and (presumably) eat free hot dogs would be intriguing for younger me, to say the least.

Well, 2020 grads, this is for you, because I, unfortunately do not qualify for the opportunity to be an Oscar Mayer “Hotdogger.” Responsibilities include: drive around a giant Wienermobile, meet and greet hot dog lovers throughout the country, participate in media opportunities… and get paid a competitive salary with benefits while doing it. Yep, Oscar Mayer is hiring it’s newest brand ambassadors, and if you ask me — it’s the job of a lifetime.

Worried you don’t have what it takes to drive around a 27-foot wiener-shaped car? Do not fret — “Hotdoggers” will participate in a two-week training sesh — Hot Dog High — that includes, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, “selecting official Hotdogger names, being schooled in hot dog puns and mastering parallel parking a 27-foot hot dog on wheels.”

Not only is Oscar Mayer hiring a traveling marketing team, they are making news all around the country for the unique positioning of this opportunity. In past years, they’ve maximized the buzz by allowing people the chance to rent out the Wienermobile via Airbnb.

So, you aren’t really putting off adulthood by accepting one of these coveted positions, but I will tell you right now — there won’t be an opportunity like this again (at least one that includes a Wienermobile). God speed, soon-to-be grads.
