Pizza of the Future

Pizza. It’s one of those dishes that is very near to my heart. Growing up, I was very fortunate to have a family that cooked dinner basically every night. We always had a sit-down dinner with the whole family and a delicious, well-rounded meal. The rare days that my parents did not cook, though, we always ordered pizza. I’m talking, once every other month. So when we got the pizza, it truly was a treat. Anyways, ever since, I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for pizza. That’s why, whenever I see pizza innovation, I’m particularly excited.

Introducing Zume, a Silicon Valley pizza company that is reinventing how we think about delivery pizza. Soon, there will be no such thing as a soggy crust, congealed cheese or lukewarm pizza. While the outside may look like a standard food truck, inside it is actually a fully-customized, powerful pizza-making machines.

When the truck is four minutes out from its next delivery, the oven that contains the corresponding pizza will fire up automatically, baking the pie so that it’s fresh the moment the truck arrives to its destination. Now THAT’S my kind of technology!
