Fall is full on underway, Trader Joe’s has an entire aisle of pumpkin products, and everyone is talking about foliage. Whether or not you love the season, there are certain autumnal activities that are all but required. Going to local farms or orchards and picking your own seasonal produce (I’m looking at you, pumpkins, gourds, and apples), wearing plaid flannel shirts while drinking spiced cider on a hay ride, and my personal favorite (as someone with leaf-mold allergies), inspecting dying vegetation.

Iliza Shlesinger’s observational comedy pinpoints this seasonal attitude perfectly in a brief segment from one of her Netflix specials. I’m not just saying that because I am a fan, I did see her show in Boston last month, but because she is right; girls love fall! A quick scroll through Instagram will show you thousands of pictures of girls posing in pumpkin patches, wearing chunky knit scarfs, and tossing some red and brown leaves in the air while holding a pumpkin spice latte (why are these even still a thing?).
