Love it or hate it, many 90s trends are coming back in fashion: chokers, denim overalls and now, scrunchies. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, known for her fashion-forward collars and gloves, has weighed in on the trend and delivered her verdict – she is pro-scrunchie. When Notorious RBG says scrunchies are in, then you better believe you have permission to dig out your scrunchies from the ‘80s and ‘90s, and wear them with pride and without fear of being mocked.

If you’re worried that people won’t take you seriously when you’re rocking a scrunchie, just consider this: Justice Ginsburg is still taken seriously even when her hair is tied back with a scrunchie. You might be preparing your rebuttal of “Carrie Bradshaw says scrunchies are out!” But come on – who are you going to take life advice from: a fictional Sex and the City character or a real-life badass Supreme Court Justice?

Besides, scrunchies were on the 2018 trend list from W Magazine. That alone should be enough evidence to make a case for scrunchies!

Whether you’re wearing a scrunchie because it’s ironic, because it’s practical or because it’s on-trend, I promise you won’t be getting an objection from me. You (hair)do you.
