The Real Winner of the Olympics is Leslie Jones

The Real Winner of the Olympics is Leslie Jones

While we’re all in a post Olympics haze, I thought it would be the right time to discuss the real winner of the Olympics. Of course, Simone Biles, Michael Phelps, Katie Ledecky, the US women of the 100m hurdles and Usain Bolt had their moments, but IMHO the real winner of the 2016 Rio Olympics is Leslie Jones, aka the greatest US Olympic Commentator EVERRRRRRRR!!

Leslie started out by live tweeting the games, complete with short videos of her cheering (aka screaming) for the US competitors in basically every sport. Her hilarious “Slay All Day” cheers, full USA outfits and general lighthearted commentating on the sports got her the exclusive invite to Rio where she hangs out with the athletes, goes on-air with Ryan Seacrest, meets Olympic Legends and attends what seems like every single event (did you know Trampoline was an Olympic sport?).

Check out some of her best tweets below and join me in the petition to have Leslie Jones be the head commentator for the 2018 games (sorry Bob Costas you’ve been replaced).

I dare you to find someone who has more US spirit than this woman:

Her perfect use for the long jump literally slays me:

When she shared all the same thoughts as us about some Olympic sports:

I think this is the perfect reaction to Simone Biles and Aly Raisman winning gold and silver:

If you don’t have a song like this, I don’t think you deserve to be a US Olympic commentator:

Of course there are so many more amazing tweets, so go check them out yourself on her Twitter. PS: Leslie, where can I get a “Slay All day” t-shirt?
