Sugar Addicts of mm/c – Rejoice!

Sugar HeavenWe have prime office space on Boylston Street here in Boston. We’re right at a T and bus stop, around the corner from Newbury Street and walking distance to the Prudential Center. We’re also right at the Boston Marathon finish line, which makes for a great Marathon Monday party. All of our friends and colleagues tell us they’re jealous of this location – I would be, too.

On the first floor of our building was an Aveda concept salon and spa but, honestly, none of us ever really went there for services. Recently, the Aveda staff packed up their stuff and moved up Boylston St. a couple blocks away and the huge space was left empty. Not for long, people!  The windows have been blocked with brown paper to build anticipation for what’s to come. Our landlord finally dished last week:  it’s soon to be the candy store called Sugar Heaven…aka mm/c’s WORST nightmare!

We already frequent Starbucks mid-day for coffee runs and, with this new addition, you know what’ll occur – candy runs! I can already tell what’s going to happen.  Someone will yell “I’m heading down to Sugar Heaven. Anyone want anything?” We’ll put in requests for everything from M&Ms to cotton candy to gumballs. Our blood sugar levels will spike, we’ll all get wired and rambunctious and then we’ll crash and get totally bitchy. Not to mention, we’ll probably all start complaining about our pants not fitting anymore! This “convenient” location is not going to be good for any of us.  But – secretly – we’re all psyched as can be!
