Who needs a cookbook when you have TikTok? Creators on the viral video sharing app have sparked a wave of newfound chefs to the kitchen, showcasing simple yet heavenly at-home meals that have left many thinking, “Who knew I could cook?!” The most recent recipe to cause a stir — Baked Feta Pasta. A pasta dish that made feta cheese go out of stock in Finland is certainly not one to disregard.
From whipped coffee to Gigi Hadid’s spicy vodka pasta sauce to the tortilla hack, and now baked feta pasta, viral recipes on social media have grown in popularity, and in my opinion, all have proven to be quite delectable. There’s no doubt that people love simplicity, and that’s what makes TikTok recipes so appealing — they look delicious and the steps are easy enough to fit into a 15 second video.
Of course, there’s always skepticism when it comes to seeing new trends pop up on social media. Is it really worth it to give into the hype? I’m here to tell you that yes, yes it is.
If you haven’t made it already, now is the time to go pick up a nice, creamy feta block (assuming they aren’t all sold out at your grocery store). Simply drop in a baking pan, surround with a bed of cherry tomatoes, drizzle with olive oil and some minced garlic, add salt and pepper and toss it into the oven at 350 °F for 35 minutes. Mix with your favorite pasta to create the creamy goodness. Bon appétit!
