If you’ve ever worked in a restaurant, you know that sometimes the struggle can be real. Between ultra-picky customers, late nights and a less than ideal salary, waiters just don’t get the credit they deserve.
That was until the #TipTheBillChallenge took the internet by storm, as most viral sensations do, and finally shed some long overdue light on the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. Diners have been leaving 100% tips for their servers and taking to social media to share their kind gesture (because if you didn’t post about it, did it actually happen?).

This challenge is timely, as several articles have been published calling people out for their questionable tipping tendencies. Eater recently reported that 40% of people are unaware that they should be tipping between 15 and 20 percent… slightly alarming, I know.
Nonetheless, I will say that this is a big step up from other viral challenges we’ve seen (*cough cough* Tide Pod Challenge).
