The holidays are right around the corner.  If you’re looking for the perfect gift for the double-crossing, catty coworker you drew for the office’s Secret Santa or you want to get back at your brother for a childhood of wet willies and wedgies, then wrap up a bottle of Hot Enough Vodka Co.’s new 500,000 Scovilles Naga Chilli Vodka. Personally, there is nobody I hate so much that I would wish this vodka upon them.

Made with ghost chilies, the spirit is 200 times hotter than a jalapeno pepper and claims to be the hottest vodka in the world – ever – and advises consumers to “never drink as a shot under any circumstance.” Don’t believe them? Just watch this video of the poor saps they tricked into taking shots (language in video NSFW). Seriously, WHO COMES UP WITH THIS STUFF?!

I get that the artisan spirit game is fierce but is the best way to gain a competitive edge to create a vodka that provides a drinking experience similar to “imbibing volcanic lava?” I’d say no but maybe the market of alcoholic masochists and ill-advised, adventurous frat dudes is larger than I thought.

But, hey, if you’re the type of person who gives booby-trapped holiday gifts, likes to get drunk on what’s basically alcoholic chili sauce or takes warning labels as a direct challenge, go ahead and pre-order a bottle at for $53.19. Just don’t think you’re ever getting an invitation to a #marloparty; we aren’t taking a chance on that hostess gift!
