WFH Can Now Mean “Work From Hotel”

Let’s face it, as we are heading into what feels like month 1,000 of working from home with no end in sight, everyone is looking for ways to reboot their current home office situation. Maybe it’s moving into the dining room, finally buying that standing desk or taking advantage of the odd warm day to work outside. Whatever we can do to stay fresh and motivated, we’re all for it. It looks like the folks at Marriott are thinking the same — they just launched day rates for the first time ever.

The new program offers a day rate at more than 2,000 of the brands’ properties, including a desk, Wi-Fi and access to whatever amenities the hotel may have for as little as $89, depending on the hotel location. They are also offering similar stay-and-play packages for those who might want to bring the kids and keep them entertained at the pool or are just so comfortable working in that hotel robe that they want to spend the night. No judgement here!

Other hotel brands like Hilton also have plans for similar offerings in the future, so it seems like this might be a trend that sticks around. Besides being a sweet deal for us, it’s a way for the struggling hospitality industry to rethink their offerings to meet new demand and consumer needs. We’re all for creativity and whatever gets us (safely) working out of the house!
