Your Guide To Galentine’s Day

February is nearly half over, but supermarkets and convenience stores stocked shelves full of heart shaped chocolates and giant teddy bears weeks ago. For those of us who generally avoid all things Valentine’s Day related, the sheer amount of red and pink can be overwhelming. But, lucky for us, Leslie Knope introduced us to a little thing called Galentine’s Day – an excuse to get together with friends the day before the dreaded Hallmark holiday. Here are a few ways you can get the most out of your Galentine’s Day (because romance is overrated anyways):
Avoid the restaurant scene and order takeout.
Not only will the best places around be booked, but the crowds of gooey couples may be unsettling. Instead, grab your favorite meal to go and enjoy a living room picnic with your pals at home.
Have a rom-com movie marathon (minus the rom).
In the spirit of Galentine’s Day, snuggle up to movies all about love (platonic love that is) like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, The Breakfast Club, and Bridesmaids.
Break out the champagne.
No explanation needed here. Every good gathering of friends includes popping a bottle of bubbly.
