Junior Graphic Designer

marlo marketing seeks an enthusiastic Junior Graphic Designer for our Creative Services division. This is a full-time, on-site position in our Boston office.


  • Deliver fresh ideas and practical solutions for projects big and small
  • Produce innovative designs that follow brand standards
  • Participate in critiques and team brainstorming exercises, and collaborate with other Designers and marlo marketing staff
  • Complete projects from start to finish, including initial concepting and client interaction/feedback
  • Support the design team on print, digital, social and other long- and short-term assignments


  • Flexible, self-starting, and self-managing
  • Ability to juggle a full plate of assignments across all channels (print, direct, digital, video, etc.)
  • Intelligent thinking, good organization, and the drive to not stop until you’re proud
  • Maintain high work standards and proactively learn new techniques, software and trends in graphic arts
  • Perform with typographic excellence and a commitment to accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of various file types and their specific uses
  • Ability to effectively present work to members of the account team and clients
  • Have the desire to grow through constructive criticism and be willing to adapt
  • Willingness to jump in at any stage of a project and take ownership
  • Manage your time appropriately by adhering to project budgets/deadlines and utilizing internal time-tracking software


  • A kick-ass portfolio that demonstrates beautiful and functional visual designs (typographic and brand)
  • BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent professional work experience
  • Must have 2-4 years of experience in a post-college graphic design role, preferably in an agency environment
  • Well-versed in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign, Photoshop, & Illustrator
  • Familiarity designing decks on Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of editing/customizing WordPress, email marketing templates and social media sites
  • Full production/file preparation experience for both web and print
