Overview
Legendary Japanese coffee roaster Ogawa Coffee turned to marlo marketing to open its first international coffee shop in Boston in May 2015. In tandem with securing editorial media coverage around launch, the marlo team was tasked with launching Ogawa’s social media platforms, building brand awareness and sustaining post-opening momentum through social media marketing.
Assignment
Launch three social media platforms and build awareness of the brand, reinforcing the company’s commitment to premium coffee and creative latte art.
Strategy
- Make Ogawa Coffee a ‘must-visit’ for social media cred by partnering with local and regional social media influencers to sample and photograph the creative latte art made by World Championship latte artists on staff.
- Debut unique and customized latte art around holidays (e.g., Halloween) exclusively to influencers with pre-approved styled photography and captions.
- Host an experiential social media influencer event to introduce Christmas latte art designs, encouraging attendees to share photos on their social media platforms.
