Chief Operating Officer
Karen joined marlo marketing in 2014 as a Vice President of the consumer team where she led the strategy and execution of brand-building marketing campaigns for a variety of leading consumer lifestyle brands. She was named Chief Operating Officer in 2017 and currently oversees the agency’s operations and management.
For more than two decades, Karen has dedicated her career to helping clients achieve outstanding integrated marketing results, absorbing best-in-breed practices from some of the most notable advertising and public relations agencies globally, including Droga5 New York, Waggener Edstrom/Maloney & Fox, Ogilvy/Mindshare, GCI/BCW and Mediavest/Spark Foundry.
Karen’s past advertising experience in national broadcast, direct response and digital media planning saw her develop high-profile media programs for food & beverage, CPG and healthcare brands such as Heineken, Maybelline and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Her work in public relations spans product launches and crisis communications for global healthcare brands like Merck; experiential consumer engagement for alcoholic beverage brands like Hendrick’s Gin and Newcastle Brown Ale; brand awareness campaigns for legacy companies like Tupperware; and integrated media relations for household names like Coke Zero, Chobani, Honey Maid, Hennessy and UNICEF.
Dedicated to giving back to her community, Karen serves on the Board of Directors for Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center and has previously served as a mentor for New York-based Apex for Youth.
Originally from Brookline, Massachusetts, Karen graduated from Smith College with degrees in Economics and Sociology.
