Wait, what?! Well, for those of you who already know us, it may seem strange to be extending a welcome after 14+ years in business. And while this post is definitely for those whose acquaintance we have yet to make, it’s also for those of you we’ve already met. See, what we’ve found is that while we’ve always had clients who really ‘got’ us, for some reason, especially of late, we’re seeing more and more folks respond to the principles that we’ve always stood for: utmost quality; fervent need to deliver strong results; honesty, transparency and loyalty; unparalleled ethics; and never, ever ever just ‘dialing it in.’ We think the fact that we have had a double-digit number of clients on our roster for more than 10 years is pretty good evidence that these principles are resonating. So we figured, while we could continue spreading the things that we stand for one-on-one, maybe the time had come to double down on who we are and start broadcasting it more effectively to a larger audience.
That was the impetus behind our just-launched new website, updated brand messaging, and this new blog from yours truly. Our goal? To allow both prospective clients and prospective staff to better learn who we are, what makes us tick and if we align. Simple and straightforward, just like us!
They say that you’re judged by the company you keep and I couldn’t agree more. I look no further than my marlo colleagues and our clients to know we’re doing something right. I don’t think I’m any smarter or more special than most. But I do know that one of my true talents is picking talent and then getting out of their way and letting them shine; the 30+ professionals that are the daily heart and soul of marlo marketing reinforce that belief every single day. Clearly, together we’ve created something that resonates with both clients and the people who choose to work as a part of the marlo team. It’s also true that we’re not everyone’s cup of tea…and that’s okay. But for the ones who ‘get’ us and who we ‘get’ in return, we know we offer something truly special. An important part of my leadership is to protect and grow our unique endeavor, and I strive every day to earn the trust and respect of my teams and our clients.

As we tell our clients, all brands must evolve. That said, we’re proud of the fact that the core values we stood for at the beginning are the same ones we stand for today. So for us, the evolution is merely in how we communicate that. Perhaps the most straightforward evidence is the change in our agency motto from “Make shit happen” to “Don’t stop until you’re proud.”
Because until the day my name is no longer on the door, we’re never, ever, ever gonna stop until we’re proud!
